Role Overview:
Reporting to the VP Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting and analyzing operating costs. You will effectively communicate results to senior leaders to enhance and enable decision-making. Furthermore, you will proactively partner with the business to understand the link between operational and financial results, provide business insights, and be a key financial and strategic partner.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support in the quarterly reporting and forecasting cycle as well as the annual budgeting process
- Identify and investigate monthly and quarterly variances to budget and forecast, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and potential risks.
- Create and maintain dashboards to story-tell month/quarterly financial performance.
- Develop dashboards and other tools to automate financial data analysis.
- Build business queries and dashboards for finance and other departments to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Participate and assist with all cross-functional (Engineering, R&D, Production, and Sales) initiatives and ad hoc projects to provide financial and operational analysis for decision support.
- Review and further strengthen internal controls
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & COMPETENCIES:
- Experience working in a public company internal control environment is an asset
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong financial background and expert knowledge of Excel is required.
- Power BI is an asset
- Epicor or large financial planning software knowledge is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and a take initiative to solve problems
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented and takes pride in quality.
- Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a time-sensitive manner.
- Excellent team player as well as the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business Administration, or similar.
- 2+ years of progressive finance, financial analysis, and reporting experience with fast-paced business environments.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
