Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control (QC) / Document Control Coordinator to support our fabrication projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing quality documentation, turnover packages, inspection records, heat number traceability, and ensuring compliance with applicable welding codes, standards, and client specifications.
This role requires a strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes, welding procedures, material traceability, and project turnover requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Inspection
- Coordinate and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) throughout all project phases.
- Verify inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation for completeness and compliance.
- Review and track non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality-related documentation.
- Support field inspections and liaise with inspectors, clients, and project teams as required.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards.
Document Control
- Maintain and control quality records in accordance with company and client document management procedures.
- Manage document revisions, distribution, transmittals, and retention requirements.
- Track and organize quality documentation including material test reports (MTRs), welding records, inspection reports, and test certificates.
- Ensure all required documentation is accurately compiled and readily accessible.
Turnover Package Development
- Prepare and compile construction turnover packages and quality dossiers.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of all turnover documentation prior to client submission.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams to obtain required records.
- Track turnover progress and maintain turnover status reports.
Material Traceability & Heat Mapping
- Develop and maintain heat maps for piping, structural steel, and fabricated components.
- Ensure material traceability from receipt through installation.
- Review and verify material test reports (MTRs) and associated heat numbers.
- Maintain records supporting material traceability requirements.
Welding Quality Support
- Verify welding documentation complies with project requirements and applicable codes.
- Track weld maps, weld logs, NDE records, and repair documentation.
- Support audits and client quality reviews.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Control, Document Control, or Quality Assurance within industrial construction, fabrication, pipeline, oil & gas, energy, or related industries.
- Strong experience preparing turnover packages and quality dossiers.
- Experience developing and maintaining Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Knowledge of heat mapping and material traceability processes.
- Understanding of welding documentation, WPSs, PQRs, and welder qualifications.
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as ASME, CSA, AWS, API, or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and document management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred
- CSA 178.2 Level I accreditation with CSA W59, CSA W59.2, B31.1, and B31.3 endorsements.
- Previous experience in piping, structural steel, pressure equipment, or module fabrication projects.
- Experience with electronic turnover systems and quality management software.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
