As a quality review inspector and assembly assistant, you will play a vital role in upholding those standards and ensuring that each part we ship is fit for purpose and mission-ready.

Specific responsibilities of position :
According to applicable instructions and procedures, control and evaluate parts and engines that do not comply with standards, and prescribe preliminary and final dispositions to be taken, depending on the situation and based on certain factors such as appearance, performance, safety, interchangeability, reliability and functionality. When required, evaluate parts on the premises. You will also be responsible for carrying out fundamental tasks required for assembling, installing, testing, disassembling, auditing, and visually and dimensionally inspecting a wide range of parts and engines.

Driven by your passion for perfection and commitment to excellence, you will play a critical role in quality management by:
  • Controlling and evaluating parts and engines that do not comply with standards, based on the applicable instructions and procedures
  • Determining preliminary and final measures to be taken, according to key factors such as appearance, performance, safety, interchangeability, reliability and functionality
  • Identifying unprecedented deviations for which no appropriate measures have been defined
  • Ensuring that non-conformity notices are accurate and reflect the actual condition of the part and the measures to be taken, based on the applicable quality manual
  • Indicating acceptable limits and granting required authorizations
  • Using the IT systems needed for your work (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
You will proactively contribute to operational improvements and help raise the bar for quality in the manufacturing centre by:
  • Collaborating with the Production Department to correct quality problems
  • Communicating with departments such as Planning, Technical Support, Quality Assurance and Material Control to identify and assess issues with part quality
  • Suggesting improvements to work methods and procedures to avoid recurring problems
  • Participating in problem analysis and groups investigating recurring problems
  • Offering expert advice to relevant personnel and departments
  • Taking part in quality improvement clinics
More precisely, as an assembly assistant, you must:
  • Ensure product integrity, details, configuration and operational costs by following established procedures
  • Keep equipment and work station clean and in good working condition
  • Observe and review the results of assembly and test work performed by others to ensure compliance standards
In addition, you will deploy your superior problem-solving skills and actively contribute to the Mirabel Aerospace Centre’s culture of excellence by:

  • Validating the effectiveness of tools, equipment and methodology
  • Participating in and leading continuous improvement projects
  • Taking part in engine-related technical training
Qualifications required :Degree:
  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in mechanical assembly
  • College diploma (AEC/DEC) in aircraft maintenance
  • College diploma (DEC) in aerospace engineering
  • Aircraft engine technician diploma (military diploma)
Other requirements:
  • Two to five years of metrology experience
  • Experience in an industrial environment
  • Two to five years of experience reading drawings
  • Proficiency in French (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of English
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook and SAP
  • Knowledge of parts classification rules
