Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to support with cleaning, laundry, and cooking duties in a family home - one day per week, for 6 to 8 hours.
We are a warm, busy family of 4. We have a 4 year old and a newborn. (However, this role does *not* include childcare services.)
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining an organized home, cooking, and helping families manage the day-to-day demands of a busy household.
Duties
- Perform residential cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and organizing living spaces to maintain cleanliness and orderliness.
- Manage laundry responsibilities such as washing, drying, and folding clothes and linens efficiently.
- Prepare two nutritious meals according to specified preferences or dietary requirements.
- Assist with grocery shopping and meal planning as needed.
- Maintain an organized environment by tidying up common areas and organizing storage spaces.
- Communicate effectively with household members to understand priorities and special requests.
- Ensure all household tasks are completed in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality.
- Help maintain an organized and welcoming home environment
Qualifications
- Language: English or French
- Previous experience in housekeeping, household assistance, meal preparation, hospitality, caregiving, or a related role
- Strong cooking skills and ability to prepare healthy, family-friendly meals. (Ability and experience cooking Caribbean or African food preferred)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and self-directed
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
