The Production Scheduler role will undertake a variety of tasks such as Production Line scheduling. You will also be creating fully optimized (attainable) Production schedules to ensure plant/ production line performance targets are met to fully meeting customer needs, while optimizing capacity and efficiency, minimizing raw materials waste, managing work in process, and supporting finished goods inventory levels.
What you will be doing:
Supply Chain
- Support the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for the plant ensuring that it reflects current forecast, customer orders, updated finished goods inventory and production work orders.
- Create and update weekly production schedules for line(s) assigned ensuring an optimal sequence that meets customer requirements, increase line efficiency and minimizes changeover time; building “Winning Schedules”.
- Perform short-term capacity planning/analysis to ensure demand and supply parameters are balanced across all lines.
- Responsible for converting ALL Planned orders into Production Orders in SAP.
- Responsible for communicating all Production planning issues and proposing immediate action and/or recommendations to prevent any supply disruption and ensure overall Business continuity.
- Conduct frequent analysis of inventory levels and product demands for make-to-stock items to determine appropriate replenishment levels and safety stock quantities.
- Collaborate with our Purchasing team and Materials Planners to solve for anticipated late demand identified in our planning tools.
- Provide root cause feedback of customer fill rate issues, past and projected, to drive actions and decisions to continuously improve customer fill rate.
- Audit daily production reports to see if the schedule was met and reschedule if needed.
- Support or Lead specific Supply Chain projects, as directed/required. Projects and reports as required to support the strategic goals and objectives of the department.

Production
- Directly Partner with Business Unit Leaders to develop weekly & daily Production Schedules for all Lines, to ensure optimal sequencing of SKU’s that create optimization of Line efficiencies, minimization of changeover and/or un-anticipated downtime impact, and fully satisfy Customer requirements.
Project / Sales / R&D / Finance
- Work closely with the R&D and Commercial team to support the launch and discontinuation of finished goods items, as well as any planning of formulation and packaging changes while minimizing the cost of obsolete components. Represent the department on Project weekly meetings on production schedule decisions, including Trials.
What will make you successful:
- College Diploma preferably in Supply Chain or Inventory Management
- Supply chain certifications are desirable (APICS, CSCP, CPIM, etc.)
- Prior experience working in supply chain planning/scheduling.
- Solid exposure to constraint-based software planning tools and MRP/MPS.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Previous experience working with an ERP system, including SAP Business One (preferred)
- Exhibits strong communication skills and has the ability to work as part of a team.
- Co-manufacturing or food industry experience (preferred)
- Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
