AST Stone is a comprehensive construction firm which has been in business for over 23 years. We are seeking a results-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Interpret project drawings, specifications, proposals and other documentation
- Produce shop drawings
- Complete a full quantity take-off of all labour, equipment and materials required to complete the project as per contract specifications to ensure accuracy of pricing
- Prepare cost proposals and final tender documents for submission to client in order to meet contract deadline submission requirements Prepare estimates for bids and RFPs
- Maintain tendering process and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems/procedures
- Attend pre-tender site meetings when necessary
- Assist in the coordination of projects and preparation of construction schedules
- Maintain files and records of work
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to concurrently manage multiple tenders
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills with attention to detail and deadlines
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment including vendors, consultants and clients
- Responsible attitude and leadership qualities
- Self-motivated and strong negotiator
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in residential construction estimating
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate
- Proficiency in bidding process
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience and exposure to project management procedures
- Driver's license
