We are seeking skilled and dedicated Journeyperson/Apprentice Carpenters to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various carpentry tasks and a strong understanding of construction principles. This role involves working on diverse projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and collaborating with other trades to achieve project goals. This is a long term project with consistent year round work for suitable candidates.
Responsibilities
- Construct, install, repair and maintain modular buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
- Rigging and placement of modular buildings
- Install formwork, place and finish concrete
- Construct walls, stairs, roofs, decks and ramps
- Install building envelope and exterior finishes
- Demolition of existing buildings and assemblies
- Remediation and Repair of Damaged Building Compnents
- Install interior systems and finishes including drywall, paint, suspended ceilings, doors, flooring and millwork
- Complete remediation and clean up as needed
- Conduct construction estimating to determine material needs and project timelines.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Be safety minded with the ability to comply with company, client and regulatory requirements
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete projects efficiently.
- Collaborate with other team members, trades people, and clients
- Maintain a positive attitude and work as a component of a team, contribute to a positive work environment.
Experience
- Red seal ticket or equivalent in Carpentry.
- Proficiency in various aspects of construction, adapt to new tasks.
- Fall protection, first aid, AWP, RTFL, confined space tickets an asset.
- Experience in modular building and installation an asset.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this role.
Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre employment drug and alcohol test
- Local to BC or AB
- Physically fit and abled to work 11.5 hour days 7 days per week
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude, work in a team environment and collaborate with team members to achieve common goals.
