Position Overview
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for the sale and support of marine replacement parts and standard components. This role focuses on high-volume, fast-response parts inquiries—supporting distributors, shipyards, and vessel operators with accurate quoting, order entry, and delivery coordination.
This is not a systems or applications role. Complex steering system design, sizing, and integration are handled by Application Engineering. Your focus is ensuring customers get the right parts, quickly and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Parts Sales & Customer Service
- Respond to inbound parts inquiries via phone and email
- Identify and quote replacement parts using part numbers, BOMs, and historical orders
- Support distributors and repeat customers with fast turnaround and reliable service
- Proactively follow up on quotes to secure orders
Order Entry & Fulfillment
- Accurately enter orders into ERP (e.g., Syspro or similar)
- Validate part numbers, pricing, and availability
- Coordinate with production, inventory, and purchasing on lead times
- Communicate order status, backorders, and shipment details to customers
Product & Parts Identification
- Use parts lists, exploded diagrams, and legacy records to identify correct components
- Cross-reference superseded or obsolete part numbers
- Escalate unclear or system-level inquiries to Application Engineering
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with warehouse and shipping to prioritize urgent orders
- Support purchasing with demand signals for frequently ordered parts
- Maintain alignment with engineering on part updates or revisions
Data & Process Discipline
- Maintain accurate customer and order records in ERP/CRM
- Help improve data quality (part descriptions, numbering consistency, BOM accuracy)
- Support continuous improvement in order flow and response times
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years in inside sales, order desk, or customer service in a manufacturing/distribution environment
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in order entry
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Syspro, SAP, or similar)
- Ability to work from part numbers, lists, and basic technical documentation
- Technical background in hydraulics /mechanical engineering / electrical engineering an asset
Preferred
- Experience in marine, industrial, or hydraulic parts environments
- Familiarity with aftermarket parts sales or MRO (maintenance, repair, operations)
- Exposure to high-mix, low-volume manufacturing

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
