Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented person with sheet metal experience to join our HVAC company. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the trade with a focus on sheet metal fabrication, installation, and maintenance. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including building systems, restoration, and custom fabrication, contributing to high-quality construction and renovation efforts.
Duties
- Fabricate, install, and repair sheet metal components for HVAC systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication and installation
- Use hand tools such as snips, drills, hammers, and wrenches to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts
- Perform caulking and sealing to ensure weather-tight installations
- Assist with construction painting, plumbing tasks, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, and other related duties as needed
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment during all phases of projects
- Collaborate with team members including carpenters and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently
Skills
Preference Sheet Metal apprentice or journeyman
- Proficiency with hand tools used in sheet metal work and general construction tasks
- Construction experience with a focus on sheet metal fabrication or installation preferred
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution
- Experience in carpentry, caulking, welding or plumbing is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working in various positions for extended periods
