Landscape & Snow Plow Truck Operator
We are a landscape maintenance company servicing commercial properties across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We are currently seeking an energetic, reliable, and experienced individual to join our team in a full-time, year-round position, providing landscape maintenance during the summer season and snow and ice services during the winter.
About the Role
As part of our team, you will help maintain commercial properties while ensuring all safety protocols and company standards are followed.
During the summer season, you will work as part of our landscape maintenance crew. During the winter season, you will operate snow removal equipment, including snow plow trucks to help keep commercial properties safe and accessible.
Key Responsibilities – Summer Season Duties
Your responsibilities will include maintaining our clients' commercial properties, including:
- Commercial lawn and garden maintenance
- Mowing
- Weeding
- Trimming
- Planting
- General property upkeep and maintenance
You will help ensure outdoor areas remain clean, safe, and well maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities – Winter Season Duties
- Operate snow plow trucks to clear roads, drive lanes, and parking lots in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
- Perform salting and ice control
- Follow designated routes, site requirements, and schedules for snow removal and salting
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding site conditions and work progress
- Perform basic equipment checks and report mechanical or operational issues
- Be available on call during snow events, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on weather conditions (November 15 – April 15)
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Ontario G-class driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Previous landscape maintenance experience is required
- Previous snow plow truck operation and snow removal experience is required, including salting
- Experience driving a truck with a trailer
- Reliable transportation to and from our company yard
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing winter schedules
- Physically capable of performing outdoor work and working extended shifts during snow events
- Comfortable working outdoors in challenging weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Mechanical Aptitude – Asset
While not required, candidates with mechanical aptitude are strongly preferred. We are not looking for a mechanic, but someone who can perform basic equipment maintenance, recognize when machinery is not functioning correctly, and handle basic repairs when needed.
What We Offer
- $28.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience
- Winter standby pay for required on-call availability, in addition to hours worked
- Health benefits available after 3 months
Important – Winter On-Call Commitment
This position requires dependable winter availability. Snow and ice operations are weather-dependent and may take place overnight, on weekends, and on holidays.
During scheduled on-call periods, employees must be reachable and prepared to report to work when called. If you are unable to reliably respond during on-call periods or are not comfortable working overnight and extended shifts during snow events, this position may not be suitable for you.
