We are looking for an HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading day-to-day activities of the HR Programs function for assigned divisional portfolios and will be assigned human resources related projects. The HR Business Partner applies skill in employee relations techniques, an extensive knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, and Federal and Provincial laws regarding employment practices in order to support the organization.

Detailed information about this position:
- Acts as Business Partner for divisional portfolio, building relationships with leaders and having regular check-ins, attending divisional meetings, delivering specific HR programming and presentations to portfolio divisions when asked or to align with changes
- Collaborates with operational business partners to support strategic plans and actions to increase employee engagement
- Participates in HR assessments as assigned and follows-up/monitors action plans.
- Involved in projects, such as performance and compensation process es , to deliver guidance and assistance to managers
- Partners with Divisional leadership to support leadership development through consultation, knowledge transfer of best practices and conducting analysis of key area of HR performance
- Provides advice to management and responds to employee inquiries
- Provide advice to managers on performance management practices
- Identifies and/or supports investigations on employee relations issues in an appropriate and timely manner and provides appropriate recommendations.
- Supports and provides SME to Talent Attraction and Learning and Development teams as needed.
- Under oversight of HR Manager, manages Disability and Return to Work programs and acts of point of contact for employees and managers.
- Leads more complex special HR projects as assigned by the HR Manager
- Partners with the HR Manager in order to facilitate the implementation of key HR initiatives for the lab
- Drive innovative solutions and streamline processes to enhance the delivery of HR support and program
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources Management
- Minimum of 3 years working as an HR Generalist
- CPHR or working towards designation preferred
- Broad knowledge of legislations BC Employment Standards, BC Human Rights
- Advanced Computer skills: Excel; MS Word; Access; HRIS; Applicant Tracking software
- Experience working extensively in HRIS systems such as Workday, SAP, or BambooHR
- Exceptional organizational abilities, and attention to detail, and accuracy
- General working knowledge of BC Privacy legislation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information and communicate with all levels of management.
- Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and work independently in responding to day-to-day functional needs
- Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with employees.
- Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
$74,630.00 CAD plus our comprehensive employer-paid benefits plan
