Duties
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth for infants and toddlers
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Observe and document children’s progress, communicating regularly with families about milestones and concerns
- Maintain safety standards by supervising children at all times and ensuring a clean, organized classroom environment
- Collaborate with team members to plan curriculum enhancements and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by implementing individualized care plans in coordination with specialists
- Use computer skills to update records, track attendance, and prepare reports on child development
Requirements
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is a plus for bilingual communication
- Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices for infant and toddler development
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Ability to operate computers for record keeping, lesson planning, and reporting purposes
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom materials and schedules efficiently
- Demonstrated time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities throughout the day
- Leadership qualities to guide young children confidently while fostering independence
- Writing skills for documenting observations and preparing progress reports
