Your Role In a Nutshell
As the Director of Finance, you will manage operational financial reporting, budgeting, and planning processes in all key business functions and play a leading role in ensuring the company meets it’s short and long-term targets.
**Please note that this is a 5 days/week In-Office position, based in our office in Mississauga, ON.
What You Will Do
- Monitor cash flow, ensuring that the organization has adequate liquidity to meet its obligations and invest in growth.
- Oversee cash management processes, including banking relationships & cash forecasts.
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, such as foreign exchange risk
- Work closely with the executive team to define financial goals that align with the organization’s strategic objectives
- Provide strategic insight into investment decisions, capital allocation, and business expansion.
- Implement cost control initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process.
- Ensure that the organization’s financial practices meet legal and ethical standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance department team, ensuring they have the skills and resources to meet the organization’s needs
- Work with other departments (HR, operations, sales, etc.) to provide financial insights and support decision-making across the organization.
- Assess and implement new technologies to streamline financial operations and improve data analytics capabilities
- Develop and implement strategies for minimizing tax liabilities while maximizing available tax credits and incentives
- Ensure that the organization is in compliance with tax laws and regulations, including preparation and filing of tax returns
What You Offer
- CPA designation
- 8+ years’ experience as a senior accountant, financial controller, FP&A or similar roles
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as you will be working closely with the Board, the CEO, and the Sr. Director of Finance & Enterprise Operation.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with internal business partners and department leads.
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is not fazed by ambiguity.
- Experience in SaaS or a high-growth tech company is preferred.
The annual salary for this role is anticipated to be between $95,000 and $115,000
