About Us
We are a Calgary-based, full-service landscaping and construction company with over 20 years in business. We handle landscaping, construction, snow and ice removal, and epoxy flooring for residential and commercial clients across the city — and we do it all with our own in-house crews, never subcontractors. That's how we protect quality and keep our word to clients. We're looking to add an Operations Manager who can help us keep raising the bar as we grow.
Role Mission
Run the day-to-day field operations across landscaping, construction, and snow and ice removal so crews are productive, jobs are done right and on schedule, and the owner can focus on growth instead of daily fires. This person is the owner's right hand — the one who makes sure the business runs the same whether the owner is on-site or not.
Who We Are Looking For
Someone who has actually worked landscaping and construction, not just managed people who do. You've been on job sites, you understand how snow removal season changes everything, and you know how to keep a crew moving without cutting corners. You're calm under pressure, you follow through on what you say, and you can step into a gap — whether that's a scheduling problem, a client concern, or a crew short a person — and just handle it. Responsibilities & Expectations
- Own daily scheduling and dispatch across landscaping, construction, and snow/ice removal crews, keeping jobs on time and on budget
- Supervise and develop field crews and crew leads — hiring input, training, performance feedback, and holding people accountable to our quality standards
- Manage equipment and materials planning so crews always have what they need on-site, with minimal downtime
- Act as the primary point of contact for field-level client issues, resolving problems before they reach the owner
- Oversee snow and ice removal readiness and response during winter season, including crew mobilization and route/priority management during storm events
- Track job costs, labor hours, and crew productivity, flagging budget or schedule variances early
- Enforce safety protocols and company policies across all field operations
- Report regularly to the owner on operations status, issues, and opportunities to improve
Required Experience & Skills
Required:
- Hands-on experience in landscaping and/or construction (field-level, not just office-based project management)
- Experience managing or supervising a crew or team
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round, including winter storm response for snow removal
- Valid driver's license with a clean record
- Strong organizational skills — able to juggle multiple job sites and shifting priorities
Preferred:
- Experience specifically in snow and ice removal operations
- Familiarity with scheduling/dispatch software and basic job costing
- Any certifications wanted preferred — e.g., first aid, equipment operation tickets]
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time job completion rate across landscaping and construction crews
- Labor cost variance against budgeted hours per job
- Snow/ice removal response time during storm events
