As a Utilities Shift Engineer you will be responsible for all utility-related equipment.
Responsibilities:
-
Operation and maintenance of all process equipment including but not limited to: fire protection systems (sprinklers, pumps, storage tanks), mechanical equipment (chillers, air compressors, steam boilers, hot oil boilers, distillation equipment), and electrical equipment & power distribution from 30kV to 208V.

Areas of responsibility include all utility-related equipment in under the operations scope.

Maintain good morale and a positive working environment.

Create and maintain a safe working environment and ensure all reports are working to high standard

Drive a “right first time” culture for job quality and maintain housekeeping standard
-
Plan and prioritize work orders, scheduling, overall repairs, and maintenance to minimize facility downtime and disruptions
-
Implement methodologies to improve operational effectiveness in compliance with regulatory codes and standards
-
Assist to lead the integration of contractor partners and equipment providing support to the plant force
-
Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary action for your direct reports
-
Create incident reports, safety alerts, and safety training for direct reports and contractors
-
Assist in effective spare parts management, parts orders, and organizational changes
-
Perform other duties as assigned.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint) & AutoCAD

Demonstrate problem solving methodology and breakdown management

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in supervision
-
Possess a Second Class Operating Engineer License
-
Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist or Facilities Management Professional designation is an asset
-
Legally authorized to work in US/Canada
Preferred Requirements:
-
Experience with operations and maintenance of large process plants that include: Boilers, Chillers, Compressors, Pumps, Piping, Power distribution etc.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Resourceful and self-sufficient with strong time management skills and the ability to determine priorities
-
Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act
