Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Marine/Power Equipment Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of marine and power equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, and a passion for working with marine systems. Duties
- Conduct inspections and diagnostics on marine engines, generators, and other power equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks using hand tools and power tools to restore equipment to operational standards
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently and accurately
- Replace or repair faulty components, including belts, hoses, filters, and electrical parts
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of work performed
- Follow safety protocols and ensure all work complies with industry standards
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as needed
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe always
Experience
- Prior experience working with marine or power equipment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
- Experience using power tools safely and effectively in a maintenance or repair setting
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and accurately
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to marine or power equipment maintenance
