Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for all building and equipment preventive maintenance within the Birchwood Dairy location. The focus of this role is to ensure all mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and facilities are operating efficiently and in accordance with safety standards.
Duties
- Oversee and execute all preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular PM’s on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Comply with safety regulations and food safety policy while maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
- Install new equipment and/or modify existing setups in coordination with production
- Available to work occasional evenings and/or weekends to complete required maintenance outside of production hours
- Assist with other duties as required (everyone helps out)
Skills
- Experience with refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other mechanical systems
- Ability to organize & maintain multiple projects
- Previous experience in a milk processing facility is an asset
- 5 or more years in general plant maintenance
- Proactivity and a priority on preventative maintenance
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License, clean drivers abstract
- Able to obtain First Aid (OFA Level 1 Minimum) and Forklift ticket if required
Experience
- 2 years minimum preventative maintenance experience

Pay: $26.00-$34.00 per hour
