As a Social Worker II within our 16-bed, 28-day residential addiction treatment program, you will play a key role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, group facilitation, individual counselling, and case management services to clients experiencing substance use and concurrent mental health concerns. In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will lead therapeutic groups, psychoeducational workshops, and recovery-focused interventions that promote personal growth, resilience, and sustainable recovery. You will conduct intake assessments, evaluate client strengths and needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure continuity of care and successful transitions back into the community. The Social Worker II supports clients through comprehensive discharge planning, facilitating connections to community resources, healthcare providers, housing, recovery supports, and other services to promote successful transitions and sustained recovery. The Social Worker II provides crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and coordination of appropriate supports to promote client safety and well-being throughout treatment and discharge. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Recovery Alberta currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to suicide risk, self-harm risk, and other psychosocial crises within scope of practice. Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and client-centered approaches to care. Experience conducting psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and case management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in residential addiction treatment or bed-based treatment programs, detox or community addiction services. Training and experience in evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), or Solution-Focused Therapy. Experience working with clients experiencing concurrent addiction and mental health disorders, including crisis stabilization and safety planning.
