Who we are looking for
The Shipper/Receiver & Fleet Coordinator plays a key role in supporting day-to-day branch operations at Ward’s Hydraulic Services by ensuring the efficient coordination of all shipping, receiving, inventory control, fleet administration, yard logistics, and general operational support activities.
This position is responsible for the accurate and timely movement of materials, parts, equipment, and fleet assets in and out of the facility, while maintaining high standards of safety, documentation accuracy, and inventory integrity. The role also supports fleet coordination activities, including scheduling, tracking utilization, assisting with maintenance coordination, and ensuring operational readiness of company vehicles and equipment.
Working in a fast-paced industrial environment, the successful candidate will act as a central point of coordination between warehouse operations, field teams, drivers, vendors, and internal departments. This requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and highly reliable, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. They thrive in a hands-on operational setting and are committed to maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across all logistics and fleet functions.
Please note : This position is Tuesday-Saturday, 8am-5pm.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
- Valid forklift certification required.
- Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment required.
- Experience with fleet tracking, maintenance scheduling, or transportation coordination considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and access shop and yard areas.
- Ability to physically handle products and materials throughout the workday.
- Previous shipping/receiving, warehouse, logistics, or fleet coordination experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize changing operational demands.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping procedures, and logistics coordination.
