We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and energetic Respite Aide to support our wonderful autistic child in a home and community setting. Schedule: Part-time Approximately 2–4 hours per shift Flexible weekdays, and/or weekends (to be discussed)
Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one supervision and support. Engage in fun, age-appropriate activities such as crafts, games, and community outings. Encourage communication, social interaction, and independence. Follow established routines and behavioral support strategies. Assist with transitions and help maintain a calm, structured environment. Ensure the child's safety at all times. Communicate with parents about activities and any concerns.
Qualifications: Experience working with autistic children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Patient, calm, dependable, and caring. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain positive and flexible. Valid First Aid/CPR certification is an asset. Police Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one). Reliable transportation is an asset. Experience with behavioral strategies or autism support is highly valued.
