Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to clients in their homes and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure the safety and well-being of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring dementia care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor health status
- Support with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing to maintain a safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive living experience
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during movement
- Support clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals
- Follow care plans accurately and adapt to changing needs of clients
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques and medication administration is advantageous
- Previous caregiving or home health aide experience is beneficial but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy are essential for success in this role
