Job Summary
The Hockey & Team Sports Associate is a team member with a passion for and experience in hockey and other sports. The role requires to work with the sports customers to identify their needs, assist them with finding products, explaining technical specifications of products and making professional recommendations to help them in making informed buying decisions.

Duties
- Greet, assist and thank customers in a friendly manner, over the phone and in person.
- Answer sports-related questions and provide professional advice related to product information, technical features and methods of operation.
- Recommend related products to customers so they leave with everything they need.
- Remain a product “expert” through continuously learning about new products, new trends, emerging technologies.
- Ensure that retail tasks are executed efficiently (e.g., stocking, labels, facing, clean area etc.).
- Perform hole checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Network and maintain relationships with vendors and local community sport organizations.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and expertise in hockey is required; experience and knowledge of other sports and bikes is an asset.
- Solid work ethic
- Approachable and highly customer-oriented
- Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
- Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8+ hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, using a ladder, twisting, turning and reaching
- High school diploma (asset)
- Experience in a customer service role and/or experience with a Canadian Tire Store (asset)
More About The Position
- You must be able to work at 2560 Princess Street, Kingston, Ontario
- You must be able to work full time hours - including through the school year (position not suited for students)
- Work hours: 32-40 per week, can include daytime, evening, weekends and/or holidays
