We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with a focus on creating visually appealing and delicious desserts. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods, decorating pastries, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Pastry Chef will work closely with our kitchen staff to deliver exceptional desserts that delight our customers and enhance their dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, entremets, and cakes according to established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with creative designs, including cake decorating techniques
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality and presentation standards before serving or packaging
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients
- Package baked goods for retail or catering purposes, ensuring proper handling and presentation
- Follow all food handling and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and menu offerings
- Manage inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, notifying management of shortages
Skills
- Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Skilled in food handling, packaging, and maintaining cleanliness in a professional kitchen environment
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with team members and customers when needed
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred
- Creative flair for designing visually appealing desserts that meet presentation standards
- Familiarity with the use of various baking tools and equipment
