2025 was a year of growth, and 2026 trending the same. Right now, we are seeking an ambitious Optician/Optical Salesperson to join our practice in East Gwillimbury. The primary focus for this person will be our growing mobile practice – Sight Care on Site – that brings comprehensive eye examinations and eyewear to retirement homes and businesses throughout the GTA.
- Everything you do is meant to ensure that people leave their appointment or visit having had an amazing experience.
- Greet them warmly and introduce yourself by name.
- Register people when they arrive for eye examinations.
- Assist clients with choosing the best glasses and/or contact lenses for their needs.
- Check all incoming orders from the lab to ensure that they were correctly prepared.
- Support the mobile business by creating patient records, validating OHIP eligibility and ensuring that there is a great selection of frames ready for a mobile day.
- If possible, we will have you attend mobile days throughout the GTA, and setting/attending dispensing days post examination.
The person we are seeking:
- Has their own reliable transportation – this location does not have reliable public transportation. In addition, if you are part of a mobile day, you could be working in a different location for some shifts - some areas we serve do not have regular transit service.
- Has ideally completed a recognized Opticians program – however, we are open to some who has at least 2 years’ solid industry experience and has worked as an Optometric Assistant or Eyewear Stylist.
- Is focused on providing superior patient care.
- Is detail oriented and able to keep the team organized.
All we ask from you is that you take exceptional care of each patient you serve.
This position will offer 4 days per week (Wednesday to Saturday). If you are able to participate in mobile, you could work Monday as well.
