Reports to: Store Manager
Position Overview
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing all daily store operations to ensure exceptional customer service, efficient operations, and achievement of sales and profitability targets. This role is responsible for leading, motivating, and developing a team of associates while maintaining RONA’s commitment to a safe and customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Support the Store Manager in planning, organizing, and directing daily operations.
- Supervise department managers and ensure all departments meet performance standards
- Ensure compliance with RONA policies, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Manage inventory levels, merchandising, and product presentation to optimize sales.
- Contribute to strategic planning and execution of store initiatives and promotions.
Customer Experience
- Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service.
- Handle escalated customer issues and ensure quick, effective resolutions.
- Foster a positive shopping experience through clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floors.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, and mentor team members to achieve store goals.
- Conduct performance reviews and support career development.
- Promote teamwork, communication, and a safe, inclusive work environment.
Financial Performance
- Help monitor budgets, expenses, and financial reports to meet or exceed profitability targets.
- Participate in forecasting and scheduling to optimize labour costs.
- Support the Store Manager with sales analysis and goal tracking.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of retail management experience (preferably in home improvement or big-box retail).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid and understanding of retail operations, inventory control, and merchandising.
- Proficiency with POS system - Eagle Epicor
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings weekends.

Compensation
- $70,000.00 per year salaried. Shifts may vary.
- 2 weeks Paid Vacation
- Free Upscale Accommodation with Utilities Included for the First 6 Months, and after that $600.00 per month Utilities included

- Performance Review in 6 Months and Possible $4,000.00 Increase
