Main Accountabilities
Daily management of operations within ore haulage to port.
Meet objectives and comply with; safety plans, incident reporting process, policy/procedure reviews, etc.
Using practical judgment within the limits set by the Manager, to manage social problems as they occur.
Mentor and provide performance feedback to team members. Coach and counsel employees on the standards of behavior, and take corrective actions as required including discipline.
Provide input and work collaboratively with peers and other departments to achieve capital, production and/or maintenance projects/schedules.
To provide leadership for the operations crew.
To assess operators and to evaluate their training requirements.
Required to report on production targets and daily performance.
Fills in for the Mine Superintendent as required.

Environmental/Physical Demands:
Work in extreme low temperatures down to minus 40 Celsius.
Physically able to use all standard hand tools and lifting up to 25 kg.
Operation of equipment for 12 hour long daily shifts for a two week period.
Main Qualifications
Professional Shift Boss or Supervisor Ticket in Nunavut (or with the capability to register).
3-5 years in a supervisory role.
10+ years tractor trailer, b-train, and heavy haul experience.
Off road operations and mining experience would be an asset.
Mechanical knowledge would be an asset.
Heavy equipment experience would be beneficial.
Computer competency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
Professional communication skills.
Arctic experience would be beneficial.
Experience working with aboriginal people and communities would be an asset.
Experience working in remote mining camps.
