The Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia (CMBA-BC) is the united voice of mortgage brokers in the province. We connect, empower, and advocate for our members through education, resources, and government relations. Our mission is to strengthen the mortgage broker community and help British Columbians access mortgage financing and housing solutions.
The Role
The ideal candidate is responsible for leading membership growth, strengthening relationships with mortgage brokerages, lenders, sponsors, and industry stakeholders, expanding sponsorship revenue, and serving as a visible ambassador for CMBA-BC throughout British Columbia. The position is based in Metro Vancouver, requiring regular visits to brokerages, attendance at industry events, and proactive relationship management.

What You’ll Do
1. Business Development, Membership Growth & Industry Relations
- Develop and execute a strategic membership growth plan aligned with CMBA-BC's strategic priorities.
- Conduct regular in-person visits to mortgage brokerages throughout Metro Vancouver and other regions as required.
- Recruit new individual, corporate, and brokerage members.
- Serve as CMBA-BC's primary relationship manager with brokerage owners, principal brokers, lenders, and key industry stakeholders.
- Promote the value of CMBA-BC membership, advocacy, education, networking, and events.
- Identify opportunities to expand participation within existing brokerage and corporate memberships.
- Monitor membership trends and recommend strategies to improve recruitment and retention.
- Prepare regular reports on membership growth, outreach activity, and pipeline performance.
2. Sponsorship & Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and implement an annual sponsorship strategy.
- Secure sponsorships for conferences, educational programs, webinars, networking events, and initiatives.
- Develop sponsorship proposals, partnership opportunities, and new revenue streams.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing sponsors and industry partners.
- Coordinate sponsor onboarding, fulfillment, recognition, and reporting.
- Achieve annual sponsorship and revenue targets.
3. Member Experience & Corporate Membership
- Provide exceptional service throughout the membership lifecycle.
- Coordinate onboarding, renewals, and engagement initiatives.
- Manage corporate membership accounts, including roster updates, additions, removals, and transfers.
- Coordinate invoice requests with the CEO and bookkeeper.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and membership data.
- Respond to member inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
4. Events, Education & Industry Engagement
- Represent CMBA-BC at conferences, networking events, trade shows, educational sessions, and meetings.
- Support the planning and delivery of events, webinars, and educational programs.
- Identify speaking opportunities and represent the Association publicly.
- Promote CMBA-BC's mission, advocacy priorities, and member benefits.
5. Administration, Reporting & Committee Support
- Act as staff liaison to the Membership Committee.
- Work closely with the CEO to execute strategic initiatives.
- Maintain business development, sponsorship, and membership pipelines using the CRM.
- Prepare KPI reports related to membership, sponsorship, outreach, and relationship management.
- Track expenses and coordinate administrative processes associated with memberships and sponsorships.
- Conduct regular in-person visits to mortgage brokerages throughout Metro Vancouver and other regions as required.

Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working in the British Columbia mortgage industry in a business development role.
- Current or previous employment with a BC mortgage brokerage, lender, mortgage insurer, mortgage service provider, or mortgage industry association.
- Established professional network within the BC mortgage industry.
- Strong knowledge of BC brokerages, lenders, principal brokers, and industry stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in business development, sponsorship sales, account management, or relationship management.
- Excellent networking, presentation, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- Metro Vancouver resident with the ability to travel regularly; valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $68,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
