Jaw Auto Service is Ayr's premier automotive service centre, locally owned and honestly operated. We work on all makes and models — domestic, Asian, and European — and we've built our reputation on precision diagnostics, fair pricing, and same-day turnaround. Our shop serves Ayr, Cambridge, Paris, and the surrounding communities.
We're growing and looking for a skilled mechanic who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a tight-knit, no-nonsense team.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair all vehicle systems: engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, HVAC
- Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, fluid flushes, belt replacements, tire rotations
- Handle seasonal tire changeovers (high-volume during spring/fall)
- Carry out pre-purchase vehicle inspections and write honest, detailed condition reports
- Work on domestic (Ford, GM, Chrysler), Asian (Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Subaru), and European (BMW, VW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz) vehicles
- Maintain a clean, organized bay and follow all safety protocols
- Communicate findings clearly to the service advisor and, when needed, directly to customers
What You Bring
- 4+ years of hands-on experience as an automotive mechanic in a shop environment
- Strong diagnostic skills — you don't just swap parts, you find the root cause
- Proficiency with scan tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ontario 310S certification strongly preferred (apprentices with strong experience will be considered)
- Valid G-class driver's license with clean abstract
- Your own tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Comfortable explaining technical issues in plain language to customers
