S3 Concrete Inc. is a growing ready-mix concrete producer committed to quality, safety, and exceptional customer service. We are seeking an experienced Batchman / Batch Plant Operator to join our team and play a key role in our daily operations.
As our business continues to grow, there is potential for this position to transition into a full-time role for the right candidate.
Position Summary
The Batchman is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our ready-mix concrete batching facility. This position requires a strong understanding of concrete production, quality control, inventory management, and dispatch coordination. Experience operating an Elkon batching system is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the Elkon concrete batching system.
- Produce concrete in accordance with mix designs and customer specifications.
- Ensure all concrete meets quality control requirements.
- Coordinate with dispatch, drivers, and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of cement, aggregates, admixtures, and other materials.
- Schedule and coordinate material deliveries as required.
- Troubleshoot batching, production, and plant equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate production, inventory, and quality records.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations.
- Assist with plant maintenance and housekeeping activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and customer service.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Ready-Mix Concrete Batchman.
- Strong knowledge of ready-mix concrete production and batching operations.
- Experience with concrete mix designs and quality control procedures.
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computer-based batching systems.
Preferred
- Direct experience operating an Elkon batch plant.
- Knowledge of aggregate inventory management and plant maintenance.
- Experience dispatching ready-mix trucks.
