Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi rolls with precision and creativity, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met.
- Handle food preparation tasks including slicing fish, vegetables, and other ingredients with care and accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to strict food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Assist in managing food handling procedures to ensure freshness and safety of all ingredients used.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by efficiently executing meal preparation tasks.
- Follow established recipes, portion control guidelines, and quality standards to deliver exceptional dishes.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, particularly in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine, is highly preferred.
- Strong skills in food handling, cooking, and meal preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
- Previous experience serving customers or working directly with guests is a plus.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
