Lead and manage the Re-Distribution division of Veritiv Canada and lead and coach the Eastern Canada Sales Team. The team is composed of a Western Sales Manager, 12 Sales Professionals and a Business Support resource.

Responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategy and programs to achieve segment sales and profitability target with an emphasis on the development of new profitable business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to Fordis team.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the Eastern Sales team.
  • Develop sales strategies and plans to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute strategies for new profitable business with:
  • New customers within specified market segments.
  • Existing customers in the market area.
  • Establish clearly defined sales and gross profit objectives for each member of the sales team and the corporate objectives.
  • Develop multi–level relationships with key customers.
  • Manage sales force expenses and work within fiscal budget.
  • Responsible for the regular follow-up and successful completion of the Fordis Sales team target customer initiatives. Includes Pipeline Management via monthly reviews.
  • Administer the segment’s customer stratification plan to ensure customer profit.
  • Ensure that agreements are implemented and strictly followed.
  • Liaise with Veritiv suppliers as required.
  • Be the corporate contact and execute Business Review for Buying Groups
  • Must be available to travel throughout the territory.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets within a competitive environment along with an ability to develop and lead a sales force in a fast moving market.
  • Autonomous and proactive, with the ability to effectively interact with customers (internal and external) to identify and meet individual needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast-paced competitive environment with excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Be able to foster an environment that will reward high performer while support and coach the balance of the team to raise them to higer performance
  • Proven track record of above average performance in the areas of selling skills and people management.
  • Strong and proven organizational, planning and leadership skills.
  • Solid knowledge of MS-Office applications, including Excel and Power Point; experience with SalesForce.com an asset.
  • Thorough understanding of Veritiv/Fordis target markets and key customers within those markets.
  • Ability to interact effectively with both internal and external customers, showing flexibility in meeting their individual needs
  • Knowledge of basic business financials. Be able to know what makes a business profitable

Required Experience / Education

  • University degree within sales or marketing; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong sales management and professional sales experience, with 7-10 years experience within the Distribution segment, redistribution preferred.
  • Basic Business Financial analytics knowledge
  • Experience dealing effectively with senior executives and business owner.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Standard office environment
  • Travelling time vs Office time is about 50% vs 50%
