Responsibilities
- Assist in the roasting process by monitoring temperature, time, and airflow to produce consistent coffee batches
- Support quality control procedures, including sensory evaluation and sample testing to ensure product excellence
- Follow strict sanitation and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe food processing environment
- Operate coffee grinders
- Help with packaging operations, including loading, sealing, labeling, and verifying packaging accuracy
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch logs and maintenance reports
- Adhere to CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety standards
- Operate basic mechanical equipment and tools used in coffee roasting and processing (silos and chutes) from roast to finished product
- Assist in tea blending
Qualifications
- Strong interest in food production, manufacturing, or the food industry with a passion for coffee
- Interest in product development
- Basic math skills for measurements, weight calculations, and quality assessments
- Mechanical knowledge or aptitude for working with equipment is a plus
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols diligently
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred
- Experience or familiarity with food safety practices such as HACCP and sanitation procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
