Purpose of the Role:
The role of the project coordinator is to provide a crucial link between sales, fabrication, and the client. This is a technical role which encompasses package fabrication from planning through to documentation. The project coordinator ensures that sales orders are accurately converted into manufacturing documents such as CAD drawings, P&ID, Bill-of-materials, and regulatory documents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create fabrication work orders and bill of materials in accordance to customer specifications.
- Create and compile technical documentation such as the job bill-of-material (BOM), P&ID, construction drawings and engineering calculations. Maintain document library ensuring accuracy of standard drawings.
- Preparation of Q/C tracking documents and any necessary regulatory body documentation. (Eg: CSA, ABSA, ASME…)
- Liaise with shop staff to troubleshoot fabrication issues and ensure accuracy/quality of final product. Incorporate build issues or changes back into package standards to avoid future errors.
- Review all “as-built” drawings and any final drawing. Ensure that these changes are incorporated into the As-Built or Standard drawings at the completion of the project.
- Process and maintain all client/vendor/shop/construction documents across multiple projects.
- Record and track internal and external distribution of project documentation.
- Compile completed project documentation to provide to client in a timely manner.
- Receive, maintain, control and distribute drawings, specifications, customer data and product manuals.
Position requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering Technologist
- New graduate or approximately 2 years’ experience in gas compression or rotary equipment fabrication environment
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- Interpersonal skills to cooperatively and effectively work with internal and external personnel.
- Attention to detail and Organizational skills to detail with competing priorities
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel)
