SwissRidge Kennels is looking for a dedicated, and passionate dog trainer. This position would require you to train young puppies in our puppy imprint program,
You would be responsible for teaching puppies basic obedience skills, socializing them in different environments, and helping prepare them for success in their future homes.
Responsibilities:
- Train young puppies using positive reinforcement and marker-based training methods.
- Teach basic skills including:
- Sit
- Down
- Come
- Stay
- Leave It
- Watch Me
- Place
- Loose-leash walking
- Socialize puppies in a variety of environments and settings.
- Monitor each puppy's progress and tailor training to their individual needs.
- Write detailed weekly training reports for clients.
- Take photos and videos of puppies throughout their training journey.
- Maintain training records.
- Ensure all puppies are handled safely, confidently, and compassionately.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1* year of professional dog training experience*.
- Experience using positive reinforcement and marker-based training methods.
- Confident working with young puppies and developing basic skills.
- Excellent understanding of canine behavior and learning.
- Strong written communication skills for client reports.
- Comfortable taking photos and videos for client updates.
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Positive attitude and a genuine passion for dogs and puppy development.
