The Department of Surgery of McMaster University, in affiliation with Hamilton Health Sciences/McMaster Children's Hospital, is seeking interest from suitable candidates for the position of Pediatric Urologist at the assistant/associate professor level. The applicant must be eligible for license in the province of Ontario. The candidate must have accredited training in pediatric urology and experience with laparoscopic procedures related to the specialty.
The successful candidate should also have experience in research and education in pediatric urology and will be expected to participate in teaching medical students and become actively involved in our urology residency program.
Founded in 1988, Master Children's Hospital (MCH) has rapidly become a leader in pediatric evidence-based care, collaborative research and innovative leading edge education. MCH is home to 165 acute care beds and 10 day beds, 80 subspecialty clinics, a Children's Treatment Centre and one of the largest and most impressive Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Canada. Each year MCH has over 210,000 patient encounters in our subspecialty clinics, diagnostic areas, emergency department, inpatient wards and operating rooms. MCH is one of the two busiest children’s hospitals in Ontario offering specialized care to more than 150,000 children each year from South Central Ontario extending from Niagara to Kitchener-Waterloo and beyond. An integral part of Hamilton Health Sciences, McMaster Children’s Hospital is also home to the McMaster Child Health Research Institute (MCHRI) led by McMaster Children’s Hospital and McMaster University’s Department of Pediatrics in conjunction with many key research partners. McMaster University is internationally recognized for innovations in medical education and pioneering biomedical, epidemiological and health economy research.
Applicants must have fellowship training in Pediatric Urology. Candidates must have certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.
