Pre-press Operator - Customer Care

The Pre-press Operator – Customer Care is responsible for functions related to Pre-press image upload and page production for the WebEase and Volumes programs. This includes fulfilling the role as liaison between Sales and Production.

Download, assemble and prepare page components, text and images based on page layout for Lifetouch Yearbooks
Assemble, layout and design as necessary original covers for our Lifetouch customers
Use production tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and pagination software in keeping with Lifetouch standards of layout and style
Work closely with the department to prioritize work and assist in maintaining a smooth flow of pages through prepress while addressing customer care matters as required
Receives account agreements from territories and books/updates accounts in system – correcting/updating exception reports
Communicate with Sales Professionals, Yearbook Advisors or schools on any pre-press or Yearbook related questions
Provide support to territories with ordering additional sales material (picture day kits)
Monitor job pre-reports and other production reports to ensure pages are moving in a timely manner
Provide status updates to territories and schools
Generate weekly missed deadlines report for the territory showing what accounts have missed deadlines on pages and covers
Participate in department meetings to develop daily goals and objectives as well as communicate any rework or process challenges associated with department remakes
Interact with other production departments as needed
Interact with IT groups within Lifetouch to address and resolve technical issues
Identify and resolve image quality issues
Assist with proofreading as required
Participate in Continuous Process Improvement, Lean 5S
Perform other duties as assigned.

Completion of high school or post secondary education in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and pagination software
Previous experience with ImpoStrip is an asset
Working knowledge of MS Office – specifically Excel
High level of accuracy
Must be detail oriented
Must have good customer service ability
Ability to learn quickly and handle high volume of work in a rapidly changing environment to meet deadlines
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information
Able to work within a team environment.
