This position reports directly to the Operations General Foreman.
What you will do:
Maintain function and reliability of the Operations Department systems (Mill, and Minefield Areas) and equipment by liaising with the Mill Maintenance and Engineering Departments
Improve Operations Department systems and equipment by studying performance results, identifying, recommending, and implementing improvement opportunities
Plan, schedule and integrate operational activities into the Maintenance schedule
Assist in driving the improvement of key performance indicators, such as equipment availability, PM compliance and schedule compliance among others
Drive improvement of Operational Excellence via engaging and building consensus with crews in formulating and standardizing additional and improved safety and standard operating procedures (SOP’s), investigating and using technologies to improved safety, operator effectiveness and plant optimization
Assist teams to focus and improve Operational Key Performance Indicators such as minefield recovery, grade optimization, product quality, mill operational and railcar loading efficiencies, specific projects among others
Assist with implementation and training of department operators and supervisors on technologies, systems and programs to improve their effectiveness and efficiency for system checks, PM’s, safety procedures and standard operating procedures
What you will bring:
Grade 12 education required
Good working knowledge of the operational and maintenance processes and systems of a mineral processing mill and solution mining
Ability to communicate effectively for receiving input, listening to suggestions/inputs, engaging and building consensus amongst operations crews in order to generate optimum results
Ability to work effectively with other groups on site, process engineering, project engineering and maintenance department
Skill set to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a timely manner for circuit outages, planned outages and summer turnaround
Working experience within shift operations required to enable, understand, formulate and decide on optimum solutions, systems, plans, schedules and standard operating procedures for mill and loadout departments
Basic understanding of current EAM system (Oracle, Vizia or equivalent) used to plan and facilitate planned maintenance and operations PM and regular work order scheduling and execution would be an asset
Additional technical education, an engineering background or journeyman status would be beneficial, but is not a requirement
