Scale Operator & Dispatch / Scalehouse Vacation Coverage- Multiple Locations
Reporting to the Logistics & Customer Support Manager, the candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers and vendors. Dispatchers are required to work closely with the Sales, Quality Control & Site Production teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner. We are looking for a candidate who can work well in a fast paced environment, pays close attention to details, and demonstrates high energy with an enthusiastic approach to learning. Candidate will be required to use personal car to commute to various scale locations (mileage & time compensated) to cover vacations, call ins, etc. When not covering, will be based at our Burlington location.
Position Responsibilities:
- Receive customer orders via phone, email & TEAMS.
- Order entry into our operating system (APEX)
- Tare and ticket vehicles; following Ministry Standards & Requirements
- Monitoring of on-time deliveries & booking required trucks to deliver loads
- Maintain radio communication with loader operators and quality assurance regarding material piles, location and “time in yard”
- Retain ticket copies, daily delivery tracking & Moneris payment logs
- Ensure safety requirements are followed (PPE) and violations are reported
Position Requirements
- Prior Dispatch or customer service experience, preferably in the construction industry, is an asset but not required
- Proficient with computer based technology including Microsoft Office, Google Maps and web based services
- Basic knowledge of the aggregate process, market geography, and product applications as asset, but not required
- Post-Secondary education or equivalent on-the-job related experience.
