True North Automotive Group is a locally owned and operated company serving Fort McMurray through fleet maintenance, towing, commercial property management. We take pride in maintaining our facilities, equipment, and properties to the highest standards and are looking for a hands-on individual who takes ownership and gets things done.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician / Property Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our commercial buildings, yards, and company properties. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects independently.
The successful candidate will ensure our facilities remain safe, functional, professional, and well-maintained year-round.
Responsibilities
Building & Property Maintenance
Perform routine inspections of company buildings and properties.
Complete minor repairs including doors, locks, lighting, plumbing fixtures, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.
Coordinate seasonal maintenance programs including snow removal, sanding, lawn care, landscaping, and property clean-up.
Monitor heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and other building systems.
Maintain building appearance and cleanliness inside and outside facilities.
Equipment & Yard Maintenance
Maintain company yards, storage areas, fencing, signage, and parking lots.
Perform basic maintenance and repairs on shop equipment and property-related assets.
Safety & Compliance
Identify and correct safety hazards.
Ensure facilities meet company safety standards.
Participate in safety meetings and inspections.
Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
General Support
Assist various departments with facility-related projects.
Transport materials and supplies as required.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Support company growth initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
Previous experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, construction, facilities management, or a related trade.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
Experience operating hand and power tools.
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building systems.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract.
Forklift, skid steer, or equipment experience is considered an asset.
