Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated vascular Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, ensuring high-quality imaging results while providing excellent patient care. The employee will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
This position offers a flexible schedule and can accommodate work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.
Duties
- Conduct ultrasound examinations on patients, particularly vascular studies (e.g. screening venous disease, DVT studies, follow-up after ablation procedure).
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.
- Operate ultrasound equipment effectively to capture diagnostic images while adhering to safety protocols.
- Analyze images for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet the standards required for interpretation by physicians.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, including patient histories and technical data.
- Collaborate with medical staff to discuss findings and assist in developing patient care plans.
- Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques through continuous education and training.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed as an Ultrasound Technologist in Canada.
- Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent training.
- Certification by a recognized body such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology related to ultrasound procedures is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is an advantage but not mandatory for entry-level candidates willing to learn.
