We are a community pharmacy in North York seeking a motivated, dependable, and caring Pharmacy Assistant to join our team.

What are the Responsibilities?
- Greet patients and confirm accurate prescription and patient information
- Accurately enter prescription and patient information into the pharmacy system
- Assist with prescription preparation and dispensing under pharmacist supervision
- Process third-party insurance claims and adjudications
- Answer phone calls and triage voicemail messages appropriately
- Monitor and respond to pharmacy emails and text messages
- Prepare and manage blister/compliance packs accurately and on schedule
- Coordinate blister-pack refills and deliveries
- Organize prescription deliveries and ensure cold-chain requirements are maintained
- Process prescription pickups and payments accurately
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and assist with stock control
- Receive and organize medication and pharmacy supply orders
- Monitor and document pharmacy refrigerator temperatures
- Respond to general OTC inquiries and refer patients to the pharmacist when appropriate
- Operate the cash register
- Assist with pharmacy opening and closing procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment
- Communicate respectfully with patients, caregivers, retirement homes, and healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience is an asset
- Experience with Fillware or other pharmacy dispensing software is an asset
- Experience preparing blister/compliance packs is strongly preferred
- Experience working with retirement homes or senior patients is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills, Chinese language is an important asset
- Comfortable working with computers and performing accurate data entry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy pharmacy environment
- Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends as required
Language
The ability to speak any of the following languages is a strong asset:
- Mandarin
- Cantonese
- Armenian
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Commute
Candidates must be able to reliably commute to North York, ON
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys helping patients, and would like to become a valued member of a supportive community pharmacy team.
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
