Overview: The Indigenous Men and Boy’s Resource Space Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting Indigenous communities in their pursuit of self-determination and safety planning. This position will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of community-driven projects aimed at addressing the systemic causes of gender-based violence. The Coordinator will work closely with diverse Indigenous communities, ensuring that the voices and experiences of all community members are respected and represented.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with Indigenous agencies, organizations, and community members to identify their unique needs and develop effective safety planning initiatives. - Facilitate community engagement sessions and workshops, ensuring culturally appropriate practices are followed. - Assist in the development and implementation of crisis response plans that reflect community priorities and values. - Coordinate the distribution of funds, ensuring accountability and transparency in financial reporting. - Provide support and resources for culturally relevant safety training and healing initiatives. - Establish partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders to enhance project impact. - Monitor and evaluate project progress, compiling reports for funders and community stakeholders. - Share information and tools to help community members navigate justice and public safety systems.
Qualifications: - Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and community dynamics. - Experience in project management, community organizing, or a related field. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals. - Knowledge of gender-based violence issues and their impact on Indigenous communities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with project management tools
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
