Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Skilled Laborer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various construction trades, including carpentry, masonry, electrical work, and more. This role involves performing a wide range of hands-on tasks to support construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on-site. The Role
Because we're a growing crew that handles every phase of a renovation, you won't be stuck doing one thing all day. One week you might be framing a basement, the next you're taping drywall or laying flooring. We need someone who's comfortable picking up tools and getting to work — whatever the job calls for. You'll work directly alongside the owner on most projects.
What You'll Do
- Framing — wood and metal stud walls, partitions, soffits, bulkheads
- Drywall — hang, tape, mud, sand, and finish to a paint-ready standard
- Painting — surface prep, priming, walls, ceilings, and trim
- Flooring — install hardwood, LVP, laminate, or tile depending on the project
- Trim & millwork — baseboards, door/window casings, crown moulding
- Basic carpentry — doors, blocking, shelving, cabinet installation
- Demo & site prep — safe tear-down, debris removal, keeping a clean job site
- Communicate daily with the crew lead/owner on progress and any issues
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to execute project plans accurately.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with concrete forming, finishing, and related masonry tasks.
- Install cabinetry, flooring, tile, and perform drywall installation and finishing.
- Conduct plumbing and electrical work as needed, adhering to safety standards.
- Perform caulking, painting, restoration work, and other finishing tasks to meet project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite to promote safety and productivity.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope.
Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on interior renovation experience
- Strong skills in at least 3–4 of the trades listed above — framing and drywall are a strong asset
- Reliable: on time, every day, ready to work — this is the most important thing
- Detail-oriented — you notice when something is off and you fix it before moving on
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Own your basic hand tools; power tools are an asset
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation to Ottawa-area job sites
- Able to work on your feet all day and lift up to 50 lbs
- WHMIS and Working at Heights certification (or willing to obtain before starting)
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with bathroom or kitchen renovations
- Ability to read basic blueprints or sketches
- First Aid / CPR certification
- Bilingual — English,French and Spanish

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
