Located out of our Sherwood Park office, the individual in this role will report to the Senior SCADA Analyst (Network and Cyber Security). This position requires the candidate to be part of an on-call rotation.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:
The Network Analyst will be responsible for securing SCADA and ICS infrastructure.
Assist or lead in the implementation of network monitoring, alert and reporting systems.
Stay current on modern technology and industry initiatives related to our business and report on potential technical enhancements and/or economic benefits.
Identify, evaluate and recommend system enhancements to existing SCADA Network & Cyber Security systems to reduce operating risks and costs. As well, as maintain all documentation as it relates to the SCADA network infrastructure and Cyber Security Program.
Assist or lead in the trouble-shooting of system, network and application failures as well as provide recommendations and/ or implement resolutions.
Patch management and virus definition updates: Develop a patch management and virus definition update program, focused on IPL’s critical operations’ assets.
Threat Intelligence: Develop a process to collect and distribute relevant threat intelligence.
Network and systems analytics: Implement a tool to monitor and alert on events from the network and internal systems.
Detailed Prevention Initiatives - End point detection and response (EDR): Implementation of an end point detection and response tool to assist in the remediation and detection of cybersecurity incidents.
Administer the day-to-day activities by prioritizing, scheduling, and planning work activities utilizing Maximo.
Assist in the support of SCADA systems.

Education, Skills and Experience:
Academic qualifications include degree/diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, or related discipline.
Knowledge of the AVEVA OASyS SCADA System platform is considered an asset.
Certification related to networking (Cisco, Checkpoint), Cybersecurity and project management considered an asset.
Experience with Windows Active Directory Services is considered and asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills and ability to write technical documents/specifications.
Sound organizational skills. Able to handle multiple tasks and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, priority-changing environment.
As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
