Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate veterinary team. This role involves supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. Duties
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Restrain animals safely during procedures to minimize stress and injury
- Collect samples such as blood, urine, or feces for laboratory testing
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Support laboratory tasks including sample processing and basic testing procedures
- Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals and support pet owners with questions or instructions
Experience
- Prior experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic, shelter, or similar setting is preferred
- Laboratory experience is highly desirable to assist with diagnostic testing and sample handling
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners, team members, and clients
- Ability to handle animals gently and confidently while ensuring safety for both animals and staff
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the dynamic environment of veterinary medicine
