Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and eye health
- Diagnose and treat a variety of ocular conditions, including refractive errors and ocular diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses based on individual patient needs
- Educate patients on eye health, proper lens care, and preventive measures
- Utilize electronic health records systems to document patient interactions and treatment plans
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, especially for pediatric and senior patients
- Manage sales of eyewear products, ensuring patients receive suitable options that meet their needs
- Stay current with advancements in optometry practices and technology to provide the highest standard of care
Skills
- Proven experience in optical practice with a strong understanding of optical products and services
- Experience working with pediatric patients to address their unique vision needs
- Ability to deliver exceptional patient care with empathy and professionalism
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye health and general medicine
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic for efficient documentation
- Experience caring for senior patients, understanding age-related ocular conditions
- Strong sales skills to recommend appropriate eyewear solutions while maintaining ethical standards
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members

Pay: $130,000.00-$300,000.00 per year
Licence/Certification:
- Optometry Licence to practice in BC (required)
