Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Shift Lead to oversee daily operations within our food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food preparation and customer service, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role is vital in ensuring smooth restaurant operations, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Shift Lead will serve as a key point of contact during their shift, supervising staff, managing customer interactions, and ensuring compliance with all safety and service protocols.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service.
- Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service standards.
- Manage POS transactions using Micros POS systems, including cash handling and order processing.
- Oversee food safety practices, proper food handling, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed to support team members during busy periods.
- Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and conduct interviews for potential new hires.
- Ensure adherence to restaurant policies, safety protocols, and hospitality standards to deliver excellent guest experiences.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas throughout the shift.
- Support restaurant management in training new employees and implementing operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant management; supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence.
- Experience in supervising staff, interviewing candidates, and managing restaurant operations.
- Knowledge of food industry regulations, kitchen procedures, and hospitality best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed; prior hotel.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate team members and interact professionally with guests.
Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
