Overview
The Senior Manager – IoT Business Development is accountable for growing the B2B IoT business for smart solutions across all industry verticals, and developing a partner ecosystem to support the IoT Practice for Bell Business Markets.
The candidate must posses a solid understanding of the B2B IoT business, and a strong track record in growing Software-as-a-Service solutions, ideally in the area of vertical IoT solutions.
The position provides thought leadership to develop market opportunity assessments and business model analysis and define the value proposition for the IoT practice.
The position interfaces with various internal and external parties for the development of IoT Practice
Job Duties / Accountabilities:
Develop the SaaS business model to support the IoT Practice within Bell Business Markets
Evaluate alternative Go-to-Market strategies to support the growth of the IoT Practice
Identify potential partners and establish commercial relationships to develop an ecosystem for the Practice
Define and develop the product value proposition, aligned with the strategic target to become the best IOT aggregator in the market.
Monitor the business IoT market to identify new business models, partnerships and M&A opportunities
Evaluate the competitive landscape for Business IoT services and recommend strategies to sustain BBM’s differentiation in the market.
Support the development of a professional services practice for business IoT solutions
Work with the Senior IoT Product Managers and the Product development team to ensure the IOT portfolio meets or exceeds the market requirements, as well as the target time to market.
Provide support to Marketing to define a compelling positioning messaging, clearly identifying BBM’s value proposition and competitive advantages.
Work with a multidisciplinary team encompassing Sales, Network, IT, Operations, Delivery, Project Management, 3rd Party Vendors and other subject matter experts as required, to support the design of innovative SaaS solutions, leveraging a common architecture to deliver the best possible customer experience.

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
The Senior Business Development Manager IoT must possess a multi-disciplinary set of skills and competencies encompassing:
10+ years of work experience in the IT/Info Telecom industry, with a strong background in business development
5+ years of business development experience in SaaS, IoT or M2M solutions
Recent experience in IoT vertical solutions
Business financials skills and experience (5+ years) in developing business cases for IT projects
Experience in managing and recruiting services/consulting partners.
Successful track record in establishing partner ecosystems in the B2B market, ideally in the IoT solution space
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional multidisciplinary teams
Negotiation and problem solving skills to work with multiple stakeholders and resolve conflicting priorities.
Strong Analytical skills
Strong knowledge of the IT/Info-Telecom industry and Cloud Service Providers/Webscalers
University or Post Secondary degree or diploma in the areas of Business Administration, Economics, Statistics/Big Data Analytics or equivalent experience
Excellent English verbal communication skills to present complex information to a variety of audiences. Excellent writing skills to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
