Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of freight. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage logistics effectively.
- Communicate with drivers and customers to coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping and receiving documentation.
- Perform data entry tasks related to freight movement and inventory management.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when interacting with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the shipping process, utilizing systems as needed.
- Work closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure seamless operations.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in dispatching or logistics is preferred.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems and supply chain processes is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in data entry and record keeping is essential.
- Experience with freight operations and shipping/receiving procedures will be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective coordination.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
