Job Summary

Our client a large well known food manufacturing company is looking to add a Maintenance Supervisor to their team.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Leads Maintenance Team in identifying & resolving equipment related issues in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Applies critical focus and a strong sense of urgency towards the resolution of issues/concerns related to equipment downtime
  • Facilitates technical problem solving efforts on a one-to-one basis or in small teams to determine the root cause of ad-hoc and/or chronic equipment-related problems
  • Provides appropriate and timely solutions
  • Follows up on corrective actions
  • Applies key learning to future problems

Supervises the daily activities of the Maintenance Team

  • Manages performance (i.e. performance appraisals, progressive discipline, individual performance plans)
  • Participates in the hiring and training of new mechanics
  • Assesses skill gaps and opportunities identifies professional development/training programs to rectify
  • Ensures that team receive fair and equitable treatment in keeping with company policies and procedures
  • Ensures all plant policies are adhered to
  • Fosters a team based environment
  • Motivates team to exceed production demands

Assumes the role of Technical Leader on the production team

  • Conducts a review of KPI's: indirect labour costs including OT (overtime) and repair and maintenance spend
  • May be required to prepare capital project requests and execute projects
  • Attends daily production meetings to address issues/concerns and provide updates on equipment performance
  • Coordinates maintenance schedules with production
  • Works collaboratively with team members (e.g. Production Supervisors, Production Manager, and Production Scheduler) to understand cross-functional requirements within the business team
  • Assists in the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs and utilizes EAM system to manage work
  • Responsible for asset health
  • Responsible for machines operating consistently
  • Able to read and interpret Blue prints, CAD drawing
  • Send weekly maintenance activity report
  • Conduct daily maintenance communication meetings with technicians
